Frank

You’re voice is calm.
So soft and sincere.
Whenever it’s heard,
Vanished, are my fears.

You get me through.
You keep me bright.
With melodic strains,
With words always right.

Calm, am I,
When you’re with me.
My stress is gone.
And I feel free.

Relaxed and easy,
Are my nights.
When hypnotic poems,
Abate my frights.

When nice n’ easy,
Are my days.
My joy will sing,
In so many ways.

He had his cream today

So, we got a massive amount of snow last night, and when I was going to school this morning, not much of it had been plowed. As we're approaching the high school parking lot, my dad yelled, "Crap! They plowed it! No snow-art today!".....he was going to drive around in the parking lot making designs in the snow......thank you for making my day bright daddy.

Don't cry...please

Right now I feel really bad for my band director. It's looking more and more like he'll be cut. This is really sad, cuz this would be the third time that he'd be cut due to the budget. I felt really bad for him this morning in jazz band, when he started crying when he was talking to us about the situation for the band...not even about his situation...poor guy.

Protest Rocks!

So, in the previous post you may have read about the cuts at my school, and the actions we're taking. Well, we decided to let the city know how we feel. Some of my friends and I got together and made tee-shirts that we wore to pepband the other night. These shirts show the bottom half of the word "BAND" and say "Half of band isn't much" on the back. We gained a lot of support. We can only hope that it works...I guess we'll find out next month.

And we can't vote til we're 18...

So, there are all these budget cuts happening at my school. That sucks, but life goes on, i thought. Then I realized how it affected me. With these proposed cuts, the HS band director would be fired, the director from the middle school would be teaching both there and at the high school, and we'd only have band every other day...jazz band would be cut completely! Well, we, the band, will not stand for this. So one of us wrote a letter to the school board expressing our views...half the practice, half the teachers, half the band. We also sent around a pettition which, thus far has nearly 100 signatures. Kids taking action...and we can't vote til we're 18...take that America!

My Shoe

So, early Wednesday morning, (around 7) I was on my way to my first class for the day, when the sole on the heel of my shoe came apart...so...I fixed it, with duct tape. It held remarkably well all day long. But then, as I was walking to my 8th and final class for the day, the entire front end of the sole of my shoe came off...the duct tape part held. So, there I was, walking up the stairs, wearing one shoe, carrying the other. I was laughing of course, cuz it was funny. I walk into my class, and my teacher, the most strict teacher i've ever had, starts laughing, as was the rest of the class...my shoe looked so pathetic. I asked if she had any tape or glue or staples or something...needless to say, she didn't. When I went home that night, I glued my shoe back together...I hope it holds, cuz I really love those shoes.

the superbowl

the superbowl was very disapointing this year...my team lost, the comercials weren't that great, and it was all in all it was a waste of money.

yet another remark about band...

so, first of all, band is dumb because we have a concert on valentine's day...who does that?! second, band is dumb because to this concert, we have to wear red or pink...who does that?!! third, band is dumb because i said so.
