Ah, the wonders of science

I sold my body to science this weekend, and am doing it again next weekend. I know what you're thinkin'..."Steph's on crack!" Wrong! Steph is on Dronabinol...a synthetic form of the drug THC, which happens to be found in marijuana. Now you're probably thinkin'..."OMG!! Steph's a pot head!" Wrong again. I'm part of a study at Pracs Medical Institute. In short, I go in, they take my vitals, draw my blood once before I pop the pill. After I take the drug, they draw blood from me 16 times within the following 24 hours...(ouch) They also periodically check vital signs. Other than that, I just chill, appart from the first four hours with the drug...during that time I have to sit up, and I'm not allowed to sleep. I must say, some of the side affects were kinda trippy. For example, one minute I'd be trying my hardest not to fall alseep, and then the next minute, I was so alert, noticing absolutely everything around me...then I went back to my super-sleepy state. Well, only one more weekend of this...then I get $650. (You didn't think I'd do this for nothin' did ya?)

    You can't...you're not 18. The deal is that you have to be at least 18, good health, ect... plus there are all these rules like no caffine 48 hours before the study, no grapefruit or grapefruit products 48 hours before the study, no alcohol 48 before the study, no medications of any kind (Rx or over the counter) 14 days before the study. The list goes on and on...plus!!! There are only three of these facilities in the US, two of them are by me (one is 2 hours away, and the other is only an hour)

    Oh joy I cant wait for my 18th birthday! Getting high and being payed for it!!!! And then I can sell my body to science (which isnt good in Corning...the Hicks will accidentally kill me on purpose). I'm taking a---how long was it---a 3-4 week trip to Minnestta when I'm 18! (I'll probably die on the way home from an overdose...but 650 bucks is worth it)

    Haha Jeeps feels all high and mighty for knowing how to spell a word! Good job Jeeps! I'm sorry Steph, I'm guess you're right...I had thought all my life that it was spelled Minnestta...without the "o"...and with the extra "t"...my bad. :-p
