The Fair...Again.

Good afternoon to my sister and the few others who read my blog! Yes, I went to the fair again last night. Our first real...(cough)...excitement of the excursion was our overexcited nature while playing BINGO. Gwenia, as I learned, is a BINGO addict...I cut her off eventually, after getting splattered with her red ink dabber thingy. So I pulled her away and we headed up the midway. The carnies were annoying as always so my friend and I decided to annoy them;) We went over and asked how much we'd have to pay to win a certain prize...namely a rather large stuffed snake. The man simply handed me two darts and said if i popped two balloons, I could win something...this is where it got fun. Instead of being suckered in...I pressed on, asking exactly what prize I could win if I popped two balloons, he said, just throw them and I'd get a prize...eventually he cracked and told me that for those two balloons I could win...ready for this?...and power puff girl, the size of a VHS....ooo! Tempting...So, I continued. Asking exactly how much I would have to spend to get that snake. Then he told me that I have to work my way up to that prize. It would take at least 8 rounds of darts...2 darts per round...$5 for two darts...hahaha...yeah right. So, leaving him looking rather distraught, we walked away laughing and amused ourselves with a new game...thought up by Gwenia. Before we went home we had to catch the eye of, and wink at 5 "hot" guys. That took all of 3 minutes to complete. So we wandered aimlessly for awhile and eventually went home.

The Fair

Our county fair is this week, and I never go cuz it usually sucks..but this year I had to sell raffles tickets for Habitat for Humanity. I missed the demo derby, which I heard sucked big time this year. And I got some time to hang out with my pals Hank and Gwenia. Gwenia and I took the liberty of grading the childrens artwork that was entered in the fair. (yes, this is like the email where someone graded kids artwork A-F with an...interesting...description given for each.) Anywho, we went through and, quietly graded each one with our own little descriptions...I say quietly because we didn't know if any of the people around were or are related to the artists. Some of our descriptions were quiet amusing...there was a very poor drawing of a pirate ship, to which we just said..."Arrrgh! F!".....and one that we couldn't tell what it was, we simply said, "W-T-F!" All in all it was a fun evening, with music by Doc and the Scrubs filling the grounds.

The Most Terrible Time of the Year

If you didn't notice, the title of this is lyrics to a popular Christmas song, in which I changed one word, to make it true and able as the title of this post. Today, July 29th...is the most depressing day so far this year...this day of depression comes about this time every year...It's the end of July. Which means that summer vacation is nearly over, school will be starting again soon...except for those of you who are homeschooled, in which case I hear some of you are still enjoying lessons. Soon it will be August...a month that always seems to dampen ones spirits. The back-2-school shopping is done...and then, it dawned on me...this is going to be my very last first-day-of-school. After that, i'll be in college, studying psychology...I could use this trigger of depression for a paper or something...hmm. 39 days until my senior year begins...66 days until i'm legally an adult...and 302 days until I graduate from High School and move on to bigger and better things. I personally think it's symbolic that the weather kinda sucks today. Now, I do realize that this entire post may be causing some of you to sink into a deep state of seemingly pointless depression. Don't say I didn't warn you...(*points at title of post*)

Spark-notes on...

The Wedding...

Here it goes!

A wedding in the park, cool. Hey those people stole the balloons! I wonder if she's...nope, the bride's not Catholic. Who's Eric? Oh...that's Eric...Taco bar...and a toast...he said he wouldn't card me. It's early and mom and dad are going to bed. Now this reception is getting fun. I'm tall, she's short. She's 6 years older than me...yes, I'm 17. Kory...are you drunk?...no?....how 'bout now? Kory, I'm cutting you off! I'm not in college, i'm 17....you've danced with her, her, her, and her, but not with me? OK, just don't step on my feet. (wow...you're really drunk...) I'm only 17...hey....when do you think Kory'll pass out??? 15 year old Kory will get more WHAT than this 23 year old groomsman? You're a bad influence....I'm a bad influence too....hehehe! I'm still only 17...(do I look older or something??" That's like middle school dancing (at this point we demonstrated)...oooo! The garter raffle....the guys won! Kory! Get away from the champagne! Yes...I'm 17...("moving my hand a little higher on your back then"...)my CD collection can put anyone to shame....hot tub party?....i'm totally there! No, i'm not allergic to chlorine...(shouts from everyone...you idiot!) I'm lounging, what are you...hmm...you're strong. You put his beer in the hot tub?? Now it's full of chlorine....and you who made it that way just drank it...ugh! For the last time! I'm 17! Cool cuz i'm the only sober one there! 2:30 already? Handshake or hug...why not both? See ya in a decade! What's that blue stuff on the carpet? And crash.....snore....7:00....dad...why are you jumping on the bed with the video camera?...hey! This church has the same name as ours!...We're visitors...wurst for breakfast...and then 12 hours of scenery....man ND is boring!

If any of this confused you, just wait...i'll go into detail one of these days.

Goin' West

Yeah, so tonight at midnight my family and I are goin' west. We'll be driving ten hours straight...(GAH!) and should be in Billings, Montana by about 10:00 am CT, but really, it'll only be 9:00 because of the time difference! Ha! Time travel! Why drive out to Montana? Well, my cousin is getting married! Yay! So mom, dad, Nicki, and I are goin' on a little road trip. Kevin will not be joining us because he'll be in Wisconsin for the Oskosh Air Show...he has to work at a booth there for his school. I'm driving him to the airport later today. Anywho! This should be fun, cuz i've never been to Montana before. Right-o! Better go pack!

Sad, but true...

This is an extremely sad story, only read it if you feel you can handle it...

I was at the airshow, having a great time watching the Interstate Cadet land on top of the Winnebago. I saw the Blue Angels for about the 5th time in my life. It was all together a fun day. But it wasn't until the end of it that I realized how painful it really was.

I could barely move! The pain came over me like a sheet on a bed. (fitted sheet, not flat) It pained me to turn my head and look at my mom... I knew she felt the pain as well. We didn't speak. We just sat there in front of the fans...you guessed it, pained.

When I woke up the next morning, I looked down at my wrist to check the time, and I was pained again. For I saw my watch, but the time, I could not tell. I guess that's just what happens when you leave things like your watch on while you're being burnt by the sun. It leaves the image of something normal, but makes the rest of you look like a bell pepper...and leaves you pained.

(If you didn't catch on, this entire post was about my mom and I getting sun burn at the airshow)

Yup, me too!

Although I realize that some people are afraid to admit it...I will. I, Stephanie Lynn Teig, am a Harry Potter fanatic. I own and have read all of the books at least twice...more in some cases. I own all of the movies, and have played with the bonus material on each of them. And, I'm going to the Harry Potter book release party at our local bookstore on Friday night, and purchasing my copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, at midnight, when it goes on sale. I've already made plans to attend the next movie when it comes out in November. With that being said, anyone up for quidditch?

Can U Keep Up With Me????

Allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllrighty then! My dear sweet mother informed me yesterday of my weekend schedule for the rest of July and most of August. This past weekend was the 4th of July, so obviously we were busy. Next weekend is the Fargo Airshow (yay!). After that is the Fargo Street Fair...(yes, we go to Fargo a lot). Next is my cousin's wedding in....not Fargo, but Billings, Montana! (sweet!) The it's back to Fargo for the Blues Fest, followed by WE Fest (biggest country music festival in the USA(100,000 people just at the festival, not counting the 40,000 people who occupy DL during the summer)....aka...traffic sucks, drunk people everywhere, and even though we live 4 miles from Soo Pass Ranch-where it's held- we can still hear the music from our house....but Toby Keith is gonna be there! Right then...we're in August now, starting with WE Fest...then the next weekend is when my partents leave for Germany and I go to my grandparent's house in Montgomery for two weeks....(that means i'm gonna be driving tractors, hanging out with my friends from Morristown (my former hometown) and going to church twice on Sunday morning....clarifacation...my grandparents are Lutherns...I am Catholic. I get up for 7:30 mass...and when that's done, i drive up the hill for 9:00 Luthern services....I really don't like going to their church, but they like to have me with them and show me off to their friends...so I deal with it.) The first weekend i'm down there is Curtain Call Theatre's summer Musical...this year's production is Anything Goes. I've already sent my grandma (the theatre's costume lady) my costume designs....I've been the costume designer for about 6 years now. Anywho! After that is Pioneer Power! MN's 2nd greatest tractor show....where I'll be working, dressed as a pioneer, driving tractors around. (for pictures of me dressed as a pioneer, email me.) After that my parents come home from Germany, and we're going camping up by Duluth on Lake Superior. Then, school starts again and I can start up my other blog where I tell stories of my procrastination....remember....the above information is just my weekends....I'd love to see my weeks! With the thought of a tear in my eye...later!
