For the Theatre Lovers

There are so few of us these days, but for those that are here, here...

This is the moment when the gods expect me
To beg for help but I won't even try
I want nothing in the world but myself to protect me
But I won't lie down, roll over and die

All I have to do is to forget how much I love him
All I have to do is put my longing to one side
Tell myself that love's an ever-changing situation
Passion would have cooled and all the magic would have died

It's easy, it's easy

Until I think about him as he was when I last saw him
And how he would have been were I to be with him today
Tender in his manner _____ consolation
All I ever wanted and I'm throwing it away

It's easy, easy as life

All I have to do is to pretend I never knew him
On those very rare occasions when he steals into my heart
Better to have lost him when the ties were barely binding
Better the contempt of the familiar cannot start

It's easy, it's easy

Until I think about him as he was when I last touched him
And how he would have been were I to be with him today
Those very rare occasions don't let up, they keep on coming
All I ever wanted and I'm throwing it away

It's easy, it's easy as life

And then I see the faces of a worn defeated people
A father and a nation who won't let a coward run
Is this how the gods reward the faithful through the ages
Forcing us to prove that all the hardest things we've done

Are easy, so easy

And though I'll think about him until the earth draws in around me
And though I choose to leave him for another kind of love
This is no denial, no betrayal, but redemption
Redeemed in my own eyes and in the pantheon above

It's easy, it's easy, it's easy as life

Does anyone know which musical that's from...besides me?

Not So Good Pic...

Alright, Damien! Here's a pic from last year...and it's not a very good one...patients will get you a better photo, but no, you couldn't wait...so here! As you can see, I'm wear a very uncomfortable dress, an apron, I'm quite a bit taller than my grandmother (who, if you haven't figured it out, is standing next to me...) and I'm holding a bunch of 20 $ bills in my hands...this picture is called "Money"

A Joke...

Two blondes are sitting on a park bench in Oklahoma one night...the one turns to the other and asks.."I wonder which is closer...Florida, or the moon?" The second blonde gave her a look like she was a complete idiot and said..." Duh...can you SEE Florida?"

Burn the Pettycoat!

I strongly dislike a certain pettycoat that I had to wear...all day...with my dress, and apron...in the hot hot sun...(grrrr) I have to wear this pettycoat, a different dress, and different apron again tomorrow...in the hot hot sun. I don't mind the dress...I can even stand the apron...but the pettycoat is a thing of torture. One more day...just one more day...

p.s...I told Damien I'd post the pics of me in this stupid pettycoat and dress and crap (don't know when that'll be...so that you can all laugh at me. Aren't I nice?

Sentimental Johnny

Now...this is just an idea...I ask that the Jon's/John's/Johnny's with the following last names do not take offense; Bergeron, Brunner, Buechette, Buelke, Boyle, Cash, Chelmo, Crane, Depp, Gardner, Grim, Hagedorn, Holton, Kamier, Navratil, Richards, Scherr, Schott, Steidle, Stone, Tegmire, Teig, Tolbert, Tupy, Wayne, and any other Jon/John/Johnny that I have forgotten.

Now, on to my idea...seeing as I know a lot of people named Jon/John/Johnny...I find it hard to keep them in order, which Jon/John/Johnny is which, ya know? So, I have devised an idea to, shall we say, decrease, the number of people named Jon/John/Johnny in the world. It sounds like drastic measures are being plotted in my head...but they're not. I simply feel that the name Jon/John/Johnny should be banned for about 50 years, as to give our Jon/John/Johnny population some time to naturally reduce itself...then, we can re-instate the name, on a limited basis, and began again with new Jon's/John's/Johnny's.

I also feel there are way too many Sara's/Sarah's...

Pick not-so-common names for your kids...it's not that hard!

With no intended offense...

Inspired by the Punisher

I recently visited Mike's (the punisher's) blog, and read a real tear jerker having to do with Hillary Clinton...it reminded me of a story I once heard...this is how it goes...

Former President and First lady Clinton went to a kindergarten class one day to talk about tragedies. Bill Clinton sat down with the children and asked them if they knew what a tragedy was. One little girl raised her hand and said, " If a drunk man hit a car and killed the people inside, that would be a tragedy." B. Clinton replied, " No, that would be an accident...can anyone else tell me what a tragedy is?" This time, a little boy raised his hand...he said, "If a bus full of kids went off the road, and everyone died, that would be a tragedy." Again, B. Clinton replied, "No, that would be a great loss...can anyone else tell me what a tragedy is?" In the back of the class, a little boy raised his hand and said, "If you and Mrs. Clinton were killed in the middle of a parade, like JFK, that would be a tragedy." B. Clinton smiled and sid to the boy..."Yes, that would be a tragedy...now, can you tell me why?" The boy replied, "Well, it wouldn't have been an accident, and it sure wouldn't be a great loss!"

I love kids!

It's not just the rednecks who have trailers...

I'm not quite sure, but I'm fairly sure that everyone knows what the term "redneck" means...if not...rent blue collar comedy tour. Anywho, it's not just the rednecks who have trailers...nope, my grandma has a trailer...she doesn't live in it, it's known as the costume trailer. As many of you know, my grandma provides the costumes for the local high school and community theater productions. Thus, she needs a double wide trailer to house all these costumes. And it is my job every year to clean and organize this trailer of costumes...oh boy! I started today...I spent 4 hours in that trailer...working the whole time...and I barely made a dent. I organized about 5 boxes of shoes, a box of boots, three boxes of purses, an box of small hats, and about a dozen wigs. Tomorrow I'll probably have to work on the jewelery and ties and scarves...I don't really need to re-organize the clothes themselves, because I did that when we put back costumes from the production a week and a half ago. Anywho! I gave Rikki that bath I mentioned...she didn't like it, and then, just to spite me, she jumped in the mud!

Rikki

Rikki is my grandma's dog...(in all reality she's my dog...I convinced gram to take her home, I named her, and she likes me the best) Anywho! Tonight I went to tie her up, like I always do. I had her treat in one hand and her chain in the other. Well, Rikki didn't want to be tied up just yet. So, she followed me toward her dog house, and plopped herself down on the grass four feet away from where the chain could reach her...oh ho ho...she's a smart one! I tried to bribe her with the treat, but every time I came near her, she'd roll over on her back like she wanted her tummy scratched...well, that wsn't gonna happen, she'd been playing in the mud all day and was filthy. I stepped away, and she rolled onto her stomach again. This went on for about five minutes...so, I tried the treat again. This time she seemed interested..sorta. She litterally crawled forward when I held the treat in front of her nose...we were making progress...and she realized it, because when I finally got her a foot away from where the chain could reach her, she rolled onto her back again. (Arggh!) So, in an attempt to get her tied up, I used my foot to scratch her very muddy stomach...that didn't work. Slightly frustrated, I went down to the barn to shut that up for the night, when I got back, Rikki was laying in her dog house! (Unmistakable profanities were uttered under my breathe.) Rikki doesn't like baths...I think I'll give her one tomorrow.

Grandmumzy

Yesterday we drove down to Rochester to see my great-grandma. (Yep, my GG is still alive and well...) In fact, it's her 90th Birthday today! Now, you may think that she's just an old lady who's memory is shot to...umm....Mankato...but, that would be an inaccurate discription. My GG is probably the spunkiest little thing you've ever seen. She cracks jokes and bakes pies...I love that woman!

Caffine

Caffine is not the best thing for a person, especially about this time of night. I had some caffine, so I'm up and doin' stuff while my grandparents sleep. The last time I had a caffinated night like this, my sister was here, and we ended up taking pictures of my serta sheep on the various toilets of the house, somethimes with reading material. I needed the caffine however, to stay awake during a movie that my grandma made me watch. She watched my school's performance of AIDA, which was awesome btw....so she made me watch her community theater's production of Children of Eden. I can tell that it was not written by a Catholic. (although the guy playing God was Catholic---wink, wink) It kinda portrayed God as being someone to fear above all things, instead of showing him as loving and merciful. I highly recomend that none of you ever watch that particular musical if you haven't seen it already.

Why can't anyone believe I'm only 17?

Later, much

Wow, I'm up early today...(thank you Dad and Kevin for waking me up BEFORE my alarm had a chance to...) anywho, in about an hour here I'll be on the road, making my way south. It's a long drive, a rather boring drive, and I pray that it's a safe drive. Before I head out I gotta swing by the gas station....(geez! gas is $2.34 a gallon!) fill-r-up, get some form of caffinated beverage, and possibly some breakfast. Later, much...I'll update this if I get a chance.

Tomorrow

So, tomorrow morning I'm leaving for my grandparents'...oh boy...5 hours in a car. All I can say is TG Kev installed that CD player in my car, all I had was the radio. Now I'm set to go, just gotta finish some packing. Later

LMAO

This was way too funny! I got my senior pictures back from the studio yesterday, and since I'm leaving tomorrow and won't see my brother again until Christmas, I asked if he just wanted to take his now.

So I put out the four different poses and he litterally took 10 minutes to pick which one he wanted. About half-way through that time, he said, "This is hard, not only do I like them all, but this is going to college with me, and I'm trying to pic one that won't make my roomates say, 'your sister's hot!'..."

This is the picture he finally decided on after basically saying 'screw it!'

My brother...always good for a laugh!

On the road again

Hello sports fans! J/K...I'm soo ready for football season though...anywho! As some of you know, and some others don't, my parents are going to Germany for two weeks, and as they know I'd be bored out of my mind at home the entire time (don't get the "empty-house party" idea in your head...i'll explain later) I'll be going to my grandparents' for the two weeks. They live about 5 hours south of my place, and so I have to drive down there on Friday...(oh boy.) My bro has to stay in DL cuz of his job and the fact that halfway through next week he goes back to college. Now, you may be thinking, well, he might have a party...no. My two next door neighbors include a cop and the sheriff's deputy...not good for having a party...oh yeah, the sheriff, himself lives down the street. Back to my point, I'll be down in hickville, located in a very scenic cornfield (so to speak) I'd have to say the best and worse part of this is church. As y'all know, I'm Catholic...my grandparents, however, are Luthren...and they like me to go to services with them...(mainly to "show-off" their grandkids) but this means that every sunday, I have to get up for 7:30 mass, meet my grandparents back at their house, and then attend services with them half an hour later...oy. And, although there's a computer w/ internet, I have no clue how fast it is or how much access I'll have to it, thus meaning, if you hear from me, great, if not...I'll be back toward the end of August. I'll still be checking my email regularly, but I promise nothing for my blog, so if you want to keep in touch, email me. Later!

The Freshmen

As you all know...I don't really like Freshmen. And as you probably also know, school doesn't start for a little less than a month, so why am I already talking about freshmen? Well, one of my friends whom I met during the musical is going to be a freshmen...but she's cool. However, I was on MSN today, and one of her friends was on instead of her. I don't think I've ever had a less intelligent conversation with anyone in my entire life. Kids are always trying to be "all that", and really, they just come off as annoying little twits. That's the exact thing that popped into my head as I was talking to this particular freshman. He started off ok, I asked him if he knew anyone in the High School, so he named a couple of people that had just graduated this past year, I realyed this information to him, and then the fun started. He was asking me how I knew a certain person...(umm, I'm friends with him...)...and if I really did know him, where is he now...(I wanted to slap the kid)...but I told him, "that person joined the military, so he's probably at camp"...the kid wouldn't give up. I just hope that come the school year, he will be the first and worst when it comes to picking on the freshmen.

Banging my head against the desk

I woke up this morning and my throat was killing me. As a natural reaction, I made myself some tea, hoping that it would be soothing...nope. So, now I'm planning on going to the store and pick up some soup...and more tea, i'm out of tea. So far, it looks like my lunch will consist of campbell's chunky chicken noodle and spiced chai tea...mmmmm. Well, I'm off to buy groceries. Later.

That long already?

I can't believe it! Today marks the 11th aniversary of when I moved from Morristown, MN up to Detroit Lakes. Click on the title to see things in perspective as far as where I moved from to where I am now. Anywho...I'm going back down that way for a couple weeks...I leave on Friday. I'm gonna be staying with my grandparents while my parents go to Germany. I've already got plans to hangout with some of my old friends from down there, so this should be a lot of fun.

Last words on...WE Fest

WE Fest wrapped up yesterday with performances by Gretchen Wilson and Tim McGraw. I conviniently avoided the whole shabang by going over to Fargo with my mom, dad, bro, aunt and uncle. We went to a baseball...our team won...heck yes! Anywho, after mass this morning, we had to drive our to our friends' house to pick up my sister's car...she was responsible and didn't drive home after drinking. My bro decided to give us a shortcut to take home instead of going up the highway...which had a ton of traffic. So, stupidly, we listen to him, and about 45 minutes later, we got home...had we gone up the highway, we would've been home about 35 minutes earlier....what does this all mean? DON'T LISTEN TO THE BOY!!!!!!!

WE Fest and Wal-Mart

So, today is day two of WE Fest...tonight's performances include Sara Evans, Sawyer Brown, and Alan Jackson. My sister and I had to go out to Wal-Mart this morning for a few items, and wow...it was packed to the hilt and then some! It took us a good half hour out there for what would have taken 5 minutes on any other day. As we walked back to her car, we saw a private jet landing at the airport...which happens to be right next to Wal-Mart...we figured it was on of the stars that will be performing tonight....anywho! Traffic is still chaotic, and thankfully I only have to go downtown once today. Always keeping you updated...

WE Fest

Yep, so today is the first day of WE Fest...Toby Keith and Big n' Rich are playing tonight...I wish I could go, but I have a theatrical event to go to...(a play that I wrote in about ten minutes for the girls I nanny for and their neighbors)...Tonight is opening and closing night, curtain time is 7:30, tickets are 5o cents at the door, and there is a free after party for those who attend. Meanwhile, since this post is titled WE Fest, I should talk about it a bit more...traffic sucks, I live about a mile from the gas station and it took me 15 minutes to get there yesterday! I've heard constant sirens, and seen more RV's than Yellowstone National Park. I live about 4 or 5 miles from the grounds and yet I can hear the music. And if you listen closely, you can sometimes hear the 40,000 drunk people singing along...off key.

Passed on...

You may not know this, but my other blog has been on life support ever since the day it started. Today, however, I pulled the e-plug. I have given up on that blog, mainly cuz it sucked. But, if it isn't too much trouble, I ask you to please pay your respects to the late Procrastination. And thank you to the 2 people who actually took time to comment on it, I know it must have been hard to comment on something so dull.
