One Nation, Omit this Phrase

We are given so many freedoms,
Some that we don’t really need,
But when it comes time to actually use them,
They are locked away, instead of freed.

We can’t say this, or this, or that,
We can’t talk about “certain things”,
Those things “may” be offensive to someone,
Our freedom bell no longer rings.

Heaven forbid we say “heaven” or “God”,
Or discuss religion in school,
They tried to take my pledge from me,
And I must say, “That’s not cool.”

When will they realize these things are a “must”,
Things every child should know,
Because of these views, our Nation was formed,
It prospered, and religion helped it to grow.

I dare you to find just one thing,
A separation of church and state,
In any Nation of the world,
These two together are fate.

If you still don’t get the picture,
Let me make it more clear,
Politics and religion go hand in hand,
And without them we wouldn’t be here.
